Mathilde Boulachin

Born in Sézanne in Champagne-Ardenne, Mathilde Boulachin grew up immersed in the world of wine and has shared this deep rooted passion for the land from an early age. She is proud of her heritage and it was a natural decision for her to follow a career path in the wine & spirit industry.

Her extensive travel experience allowedyer to become fluent in French, English, Spanish and Swedish. Her experiences have given her an international, cosmopolitain perspective of the world of wine and helped to fine-tune her sales and marketing knowledge.

Mathilde has acquired  a number of qualifications:

  • DUT in Sales Techniques,
  • International Negotiator degree from the École Supérieure de Commerce International in Fontainebleau,
  • DESS in International Commerce from the University of Marne la Vallée,
  • Masters degree specialising in International Wine & Spirit Sales from the École Supérieure de Commerce in Dijon,
  • Qualification from the London Wine Spirit & Education Trust.

Mathilde decided to build on her professional experience by living abroad in the United States, Spain and Scandinavia where, after first working as Marketing Director in a multinational Swedish company, she became a Buyer and “Wine Brand Manager” for a leading private import company for pan-Nordic wines & spirits.

She later returned to the Languedoc-Roussillon region in France and in 2008 decided to create her own communication and consulting agency, Avina, specialised in the wine sector, in order to work with winemakers developing their marketing and communication strategies.

In 2010, Mathilde decided to team up with a business partner to embark upon a new adventure as a winemaker. Her dreams became a reality when she purchased her own wine domaine nestled in the heart of a beautiful basalt terroir close to Pézenas. Villa Noria was born, a domaine with a deep commitment to organic production and a high environmental value which produces unique and unusual organic wines. Mathilde was able to test all of her expertise in sales, communication and marketing in order to develop the domaine and reflect her values and boundless passion for the world of wine.

Mathilde simultaneously joined forces with Fabien Gross to create Domaines Pierre Chavin in 2010. By combining their knowledge and skills, these two experts have succeeded in firmly establishing their merchant company in the wine sector and quickly built a solid international  reputation thanks to their winning differentiation strategy.  Mathilde is responsible for strategy, marketing and financial decisions and also handles sales in the key areas.

As both Manager and Coach, she strives to pass on her energy and positivity to her team. Strong values added to open mind made her success as she knows there is always a solution for every issue.

Mathilde has been the best ambassador of her own brand both on national and international media. She presents Pierre Chavin’s wines with passion, commitment and a touch of femininity on television brodcasts, documentaries and newscasts as well as profesionnal newspapers and magazines.

She was honored to receive the prestigious  2016 Eco Performance Trophy attesting  the remarkable Pierre Chavin growth and also confirms her own personal success.

She appears in the “Top 20 of the wine world” among the 20 women and men of the French wine industry who marked 2016.

Mathilde Boulachin is living proof that we can start from zero and still make our dreams… a reality!
