Big tradition in the swedish culture, the crayfish party (kräftskiva) has spread to Finland and Norway.
Each year, at the end of summer, families and friends gather and seat around a table outdoor, by candlelight and lanterns. In the soft heat of August, in the midst of wild scandivian’s nature, it’s the perfect moment to enjoy one of the most popular dish : crayfish.
Crayfish is fished after dark, it is immersed alive in a salty broth with dill. According to the tradition, it is eaten cold, with fingers and a lot of noise to enjoy all the flavor !
To enjoy this feast, popular songs and white wine are highly recommended.
For this occasion, Pierre Chavin’s oenologist selected 2 wines which will sublimate the crayfish.
Available in 75cl bottle with a screw cap, for easy service, and in 3l friendly and nomadic format bag-in-box, the eponymous brand Pierre Chavin proposes a white wine, AOP Côtes de Gascogne. Blend of Sauvignon Blanc, Colombard and Gros Manseng, this wine expresses one of the most important French terroir and represents the French elegance, seducing by its refinement and its intense aromatic profile.
Presented in an ecological and flowery pouch bag symbolizing nature and freshness, close to scandinavian’s cultural values, La Noria is an organic Sauvignon Blanc IGP Pays d’Oc. In an epicurean format and easy to move, it’s a fruity wine with a pleasant freshness.
This selection is a perfect incarnation of friendship and share values communicated during the crayfish party and allow you to celebrate it fully.
Happy kräftskiva to everyone !
